problem with validator
As the heading says, I have a problem with the validator and I just can’t figure it out.
History:
I recently installed the fgr_punbb_info plugin which helps in displaying recent posts in the punBB forum.
All works perfectly except the validation. Well that works too but not as expected.
Click <a href=“http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fneme.org%2Fmain%2F423%2Fthe-manifesta-decade”>here</a>. The links is going to take you to the validator results page for <a href=“http://neme.org/main/423/the-manifesta-decade”>neme.org/main/423/the-manifesta-decade</a>.
Now can you please click on the actual page link and copy the source code of the page, go to the validator <a href=“http://validator.w3.org/”>home page</a> and paste the source code in the appropriate field. All validates OK.
let me go back to the plugin. Without it the pages validate without the need of copy/paste. I know that maybe this post is more geared towards the plugin but I am posting it here instead for two reasons
1. I haven’s seen fathersGrave (the developer of the plugin) in this forum for some time.
2. The behaviour as described above has to do with html validation and with the validator.
Any ideas how I could fix this one?

Re: problem with validator
It may have to do with the fact that some characters with Windows-1252 position is undefined in ISO
Latin or Unicode, as & hellip;?
I don’t know if this can be the true problem, but it looks like it’s just a matter of non-utf8 charachter, so this may be one issue. Try to change the charset to Windows-1252 to verify. Then you can choose to modify the source code to avoid hellip and return back to utf-8.

Re: problem with validator
Hey, It’s not a problem with his plugin, it’s a problem with one of your Forum titles.
When someone created the forum called “Patroclos: When modern art meets Greek tragedy”, they fucked up and put in a non-utf char after tragedy.

Walker you hit the nail right on the head! I was scratching my head for 2 days here trying to figure it out. What is strange is that the character does not even reach txp as the title exceeds the max characters. So I was not even looking for that one.
Thanks !!!

Re: problem with validator
no problemo
Oh, and it does reach textpattern. Check the “title” attribute of your anchor tag.
