www.intuitivedesigns.net

Hi everyone,

I’m new here and this is the first site I have worked on using Textpattern. We decided to use it for our company portfolio site here: Intuitive Designs

We are located in Madrid, Spain and are a web and graphic design studio.

What do you think?

Re: www.intuitivedesigns.net

Hi, I’m new to TXTP. Could you explain the basic structure of the portfolio section?
is the main page a new template ?
Did you add an extra field in ‘write’ to add a thumbnails so they would appear on that page? or did you use excerpt?
Are the main big images added in the main article filed or in a seperate new field?

Re: www.intuitivedesigns.net

Hi David,

I made the thumbnails as excerpts. The main page and the inside pages are using a new template and the main big images are in the main article, not a custom field. I got the method from Jared Christensen’s nice site here:
Textpattern: Building a Better Portfolio.

Hope that helps!

I commented at your site, but also want to do it here: the site is beautiful and the content is very good and helpful.

Reading it right now, and also added to my feeds.

At this point an initial retainer fee of 50% and the web site content (text, photos, etc.) will be required before we start the on web site design.

Re: www.intuitivedesigns.net

I like it, just a couple of comments …

  1. The home page illustrationa are nice, but seem disjointed. Any way to integrate them better?
  2. I would not break “high-quality” between two lines.
  3. I like your diagnal stripes as textured backgrounds, but the one on the top (red) is a different angle than the ones on the bottom (grey). I personally prefer the top.
  4. Overall, I like the colors and layout. Not sure about the whole “cooking” theme, but that’s a personal taste. (no pun intended.)

Re: www.intuitivedesigns.net

Thanks, Jina. You have a lovely site also!

Kevin, thanks for the good suggestions. I didn’t want high-quality going on two lines, but it seems to do it on some browsers, so I will have to find a way to control it better. Just one question about the 1st, where you say that the illustrations seem disjointed. Do you mean that they seem to be floating around too much or that maybe they should all be lined up down the left side? Thanks again! By the way, I read your blog often. You have some great articles there.
