Textile vs. Textpattern tags for images
Which is better for use in articles? One thing I noticed, is that when a TXP site has been moved, all the IMG links are broken until I re-open-save all the articles. Would this not happen if I were using txp:image tags instead of textile? Anyone else have a preference?

Assuming we’re talking about images managed through Txp’s image interface, yes, that’s correct.

So there is no reason/advantage to ever use textile image tags? (unless you wanted to change the ALT text separately or something like that…)

Not really, no. Textile is intended as a quick shorthand for HTML, not specialized for Textpattern in particular.

Re: Textile vs. Textpattern tags for images
The difference I’ve seen is that Texpattern tags do not show up in article preview, where Textile tags do.
But I like using Textpattern tags at times if I want to assign a class to them so text can wrap aound it.

Re: Textile vs. Textpattern tags for images
Alright, I guess I’ve run into an issue using the TXP Image tag in place of Textile – there doesn’t appear to be an intuitive way to create a linkable image using <txp:image /> – or please correct me if i’m mistaken!? An intuitive way might be <txp:image link="etc" /> but it appears one has to wrap the <txp:image /> in XHTML. Any ideas? Thanks…

Linkable… to what? a “regular” url? or a thumbnail/popup?

hi Mary! A regular URL. The Textile method of linking images is very intuitive:
1. A link = "link text":url
2. An image = !img src!
3. A linked image = !img src!:url
TXP Image, not so much…
1. An image = < txp:image id=“x” />
2. A linked image = < a href=“url”>< txp:image id=“x” />< /a>
