Upside down exclamation mark

I’m trying to bold-up the Spanish word ¡Urgente! with an asterisk at either end, but the upside down exclamation mark at the begining of the word stops it working. Any ideas? Unfortunately, I lack the Spanish to seek help from native speakers….

¡Urgente! works. The brackets were introduced in some recent TXP version to denote textilable strings.
