[wiki] Tags by topic
It’d be helpful if there was a list of tags grouped by purpose or topic. The list by form type doesn’t quite do the job – it’s difficult for newbies to find a list of all tags useful for comments, for example, or for images, file downloads, and so on.

Good idea, and I think the notion of grouping things by task/objective would be useful in many other areas as well, like plugins for example.
Anyway, the first step I suppose would be to start a new page in the Tags area of TextBook that establishes a place for listing a number of popular objectives/tasks people have, which can then be used to start the Tag associations?
Heck, maybe the eventual pages even turn out to be the “How Tos” everyone always screams for but nobody writes. Coming in through the back door, I guess.
Maybe Rick or Maniqui have thoughts, being they work in that area of TB quite a bit.

I’m constantly consulting the TxB Alphabetical Tag Listing, both for personal ignorance and for helping at forum.
It’s very useful, and I usually know what tag I’m looking for, so I simple type a page search (I have the “begin search as you type” option enabled in FF) and quicky I’m at the tag I’m looking for.
But zem’s idea is ok.
Tags grouped by category/purpose (that can also have filtered in an individual page, like “…index.php?title=Article_Form_Tags_Listing” or “…index.php?title=File_Tags_Listing”.

Yeah… I should write something… I have the time… it’s just a matter of finding the motivation.
But I know… “The motivation/inspiration will find you while you are working”
(that’s another story, let’s keep the thread on track)

Task-based vs. feature-based is exactly what’s needed with this software. As a newbie, I have no idea what tag I need, so sorting through all the tags is a bit overwhelming and frustrating. However, I do know that I want to add a side nav or insert an image or … . I know the task. I don’t know the name of the feature (tag).
