Re: Possible? Textpattern in document root?

/textpattern/ is the root to the admin side of TXP. No one but you will have access to that URL. I mean, it’s not a “public” URL that anyone can see or that search engines will index.

Your site can run as you want, in the root and have URLs like www.domain.com/title

Check the manual for more info.

Re: Possible? Textpattern in document root?

When installing it like written in the readme, I’ve to upload the unzipped files as they are, which means, a /textpattern folder be on my server where textpattern is running.

You are confusing two things:
1) the main installation directory
2) the subdirectory that contains the admin-panel

There is no requirement that Textpattern has on where you install Textpattern (1), in fact most people have it at their site root. However the admin-panel is always one directory down (2) in the /textpattern/ directory, however that does not affect your public site in any way.
