Sections, categories & rss feeds. How to filter content

What would be the best way to do this:

I have three sections:

S1. Projects, showcase articles with few categories like www, print… / Section uses own page template.
S2. Articles, general writings about everything else / uses own page template too
S3. Advertisement / should not be seen at all on the site, but visible in rss-feeds

S3 is just for promoting photo-updates via feed. Photos are added with entirely different cms. It doesn’t have rss-feed possibility at all. So when I add photos, I write “invisible” post, containing links to new photos. Post is feeded, but not shown on the site.

In my site’s index-page should list only few latest headers from sections 1 & 2, in posted order, in the same list. Clicking headers links to article, which is displayed using it’s own template, as described earlier.

Everything is working almost right, but I can’t make the link-list on the frontpage working right. It either shows too much or too less. I have tried the option “On the fronpage” in the sections settings admin page, but no…

So could someone tell, which kind of tagsoup is needed to display clickable headers only from S1 & S2 but still having S3 in feed?

Thanks!
