comments don't work

I have this problem wth textpattern where in comments are neither displayed nor are you able to create a comment. When you go to click on the comment link it takes you to a page with just the article again, but no comment form.

Strangely enough, this happens in wordpress too.

It looks like you have ‘automatically append comments to articles’ turned off, and no comments tags in your article form. But I can’t be sure of course. Have a look here.

ahh, I feel dumb. I thought that option meant to show them on articles automatically without clicking to view comments. Ok, all better haha.
