Widescreen, a photoblog template
I originally created this photoblog template for the Textplates competition, but now that I’ve finished a version that’s more functional and cross-browser compatible, I thought I’d mention it here.
Widescreen v.9
Read more about it on the Widescreen page, view the demo, or download it now.
Constructive criticism and bug reports are welcome. Thanks!

I love it. I am using firefox and on the scrolling comment box I cannot see the bottom of the box when textile help is activated.

John — So glad you got everything working! Sorry about the comment box height; I should have known I was getting too close.
I suppose in the short term the best thing would be to edit widescreen.css and change #message {height:90px;}
to #message {height:75px;}
Either that or delete your least favorite formatting shortcut from the textilehelp form?

It’s not a problem, just letting you know. I upgraded and tweaked it a little bit. Now I’ve just got to get out to take some more shots.

Re: Widescreen, a photoblog template
I love this theme, it looks so cool and it is just what i am looking for~
though, i am having problem with the unlimited categories plugin. articles ain’t showing in the category page… for instance, http://photolog.kidulthood.com/archive/object shows no article entries
this is a fresh start installation of txp and the theme, and i followed every steps in the readme included in the theme…
anyone has idea where goes wrong? any help will be appreciated!!
thanks in advance.
ps. if an article has been assigned to a category by using default txp category option, then it can be displayed by going to : photolog.kidulthood.com/section/category
seems txp cannot display articles which have been assigned by unlimited categories …
did i set something wrong or is there any way to fix this??

Naiadray — it looks like you got v.9 working and switched to the tru_tags plugin. Any problems?

Re: Widescreen, a photoblog template
I’m enjoying playing around with this Template … thanks James for all your work.
Quick question, is there a logical place in the design/layout to include an ‘About’ link? Next to ‘Next’ and ‘Previous’ maybe? Might be good for users to find out more info about the photographer, purchasing, etc.

Re: Widescreen, a photoblog template
Hmm. Good point. Maybe I will put that into 1.0. I am thinking the search has to go somewhere else anyway, so it might be a good time to find a place for an about page.
Thanks!

Re: Widescreen, a photoblog template
First of all: what a nice photoblog template! My compliments.
After installing the template I encountered the absence of “filter archive by tags” as available in the original widescreen example.
For this moment, I uploaded four images and after clicking on “archive” I only got the Live Search column.
How do I get “filter archive by tags”? Did I forget to install some options?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings,
Boudewijn

Re: Widescreen, a photoblog template
Hi Boudewijn,
It’s hard for me to tell what the issue is without seeing your site. Try checking that your sections and pages match this screenshot
Failing that, if you post the address of your photoblog site (or email me through the forum), I might be able to figure out what’s amiss by clicking around.
Good luck!
