clean urls on IIS5?

After looking at the clean urls without mod_rewrite post over at textpattern.com, I was wondering if anyone has had luck getting clean urls working on servers other then Apache? I just found out that a site I will be moving over to TXP is hosted on a IIS5 server. We could portentially move it to Apache (which I have more experience with), but it would be easy for various reason to leave it put. I read something about a mod_rewrite equivalent that works for IIS5. Any thoughts? Jeff.

Re: clean urls on IIS5?

Well, there is IISRewrite, but I wonder if you could use the partly messy method. All that requires is the ability to define a custom 404 page in your server (which I certainly hope IIS can do).
