Upgrading to PHP5 and MySQL5?

Hello,

My provider is upgrading his servers to :

Apache 2.0.x
PHP 5.x
mysql 5.x

I use TPX rev. 1188 with the following plugins :

pap-contact-cleaner .1
rss-sup-archive .16.1
sdr-guestbook 4.0
upm-img-popper .10
zem-contact-lang 4.0.3.03
zem-contact-reborn 4.0.3.17

Can the upgrading be a problem for my site or will everything work smoothly

Regards,

Roelof

This is what I run on my laptop:
Apache 2.0.55
MySQL 5.0.18
PHP 5.1.2

No problems with Textpattern, runs great.

It depends on what you’re updating from. A big jump in MySQL versions can lead to character set problems.

Just what I’ve seen after upgrading mySQL from 4.0.14 to 5.1 (on my local machine, just for playing around). TXP does the right thing by storing text as UTF-8, but text comes back from the DB totally garbled. It doesn’t happen only for old entries, but for new articles as well. I have reverted to my old setup for now. Do you know of a way to avoid this issue while upgrading?

Thanks!

Well I can get the ‘a’. But how do I put the circle around it?
