Problems when changing URL in TXP installation
I did not have a domain name registered when I had Textpattern installed on my server. The installation works fine and I registered a domain which points to the site. Looks fine. However, when I change the site URL in the admin area to the registered domain, I lose the formatting. I no longer see the theme I have installed, just a bunch of unformatted text. I also must login to the installation using the hostname and not the domain name e.g. www.hostname.com/textpattern but not www.mydomainname.com/textpattern. I can keep the URL as is (the URL my host provided), but I am wondering if I am going to run into any problems as I continue to work on the site. Is there a line I can easily modify somewhere to fix this? Or should I do a re-install now that the domain is registered?

Re: Problems when changing URL in TXP installation
You might’ve set the site URL incorrectly. Take a look at the HTML source and see where the CSS link is pointing. Is it a valid URL?

Re: Problems when changing URL in TXP installation
OK. I am assuming that by HTML source code you mean the code of the default template in Presentation -> Pages. I just uploaded a template but I have not edited it. I have the following lines in the header
meta http-equiv=“content-type” content=“text/html; charset=utf-8” />
link rel=“stylesheet” href=”<txp:css />” type=“text/css” />
title><txp:page_title /></title>
Should there be a URL following the / in any of the above or am I misunderstanding your suggestion? Thanks.

No, I mean the HTML source of the page that isn’t displaying correctly.

Re: Problems when changing URL in TXP installation
When I change to my domain name in the admin panel I click on view page, the source reveals the following CSS information in the header:
meta http-equiv=“content-type” content=“text/html; charset=utf-8” /> link rel=“stylesheet” href=“http://www.greekfoodblog.com/textpattern/css.php?s=default” type=“text/css” />
along with a whole bunch of other information.
This is the correct URL. But when I use the IP address my host gave me I only see a few frameset tags in the source and the correctly displayed page.

Re: Problems when changing URL in TXP installation
I think this lies with my DNS and not something in Textpattern. I will investigate this further. Thanks for the help.
