private homepage with blog

robert hartl is my private homepage.
My name is Robert Hartl, Passau, Germany.

There are a weblog, some funny pics and so far one template.

I’m not already sure what background it should be.

At the moment I work (at night) on an image gallery. I’d like to have the galleries in articles with an overview at the category.

Thanks for Your feedback.

Re: private homepage with blog

I think you’ve done a very nice job. Although, I find the background to be a wee bit bright, that and at the bottom I notice the begginning of another header image. That might just be my monitor resolution though.

I like the layout, don’t think it’s too bright. I had a very good time with the funny pictures :) Just when hovering over a full image it says Bild schließen.

Re: private homepage with blog

I think it’s just great, everything, the altering background pattern, as enhancement for section identification allso does a great job,
the picture gallery, the layout, design, everything, it would be interesting to know a little about how it’s working under the hood.

well done,

regards, marios

Re: private homepage with blog

oh thanks marios. :-)
How is it working? Thats a little to general.
The different sections are made different by css. The body-tag gets the section as id. In css then you can adress every section if You want (navi, background, …)
The paper-background is an image with transparent borders on the left and right and repeat-y.
The image gallery is made with rss_thumbpop (plugin) and lightbox-effects (javascript with css).
What else?

Re: private homepage with blog

Well, I meant more, yes from the txp side of things, I just came to discover some of it, it’s on the first article of the portrait section,
that is probablay because there is an commenting tag <code>—></code> leftover at the article custum tag on that page template.

what other plugins does it use ?

regards, marios

Re: private homepage with blog

I use a lot of plugins:
  1. ajw_comment_num
  2. ajw_if_comment_owner (css-class: different border-color)
  3. asy_sitemap (for google – works perfect)
  4. cbs_category_list (section sensitive categories)
  5. czg_if_comment_cookies for different order of fields (name or preview first)
  6. dru_random_image (home – different pictures – edited for thumbs)
  7. glx_code for code-examples
  8. glx_gravatar (I had problems with the newest version)
  9. glx_image_count (funny pics = lustige Fotos)
  10. mem_online_users (footer)
  11. ob1_if_section for individual meta tags and title
  12. ob1_title for better titles
  13. ran_tags for tags (problems with clean urls)
  14. rpg_trackbackrdf/ -url (works not ((yet)) with my url-scheme)
  15. rss_thumbpop (gallery lustige Fotos)
  16. zem_cache only for all the pics (traffic and speed)
  17. zem_contact (fine feedback form)
  18. rss_suparchive

Re: private homepage with blog

@robert, thanks a lot for the insight, it’s allways nice to know a little side information, when you look at a site, it makes it more interesting to analyze it, when you go through the different pages.

regards, marios
