Style link categories PER LINK!

Hi all, so I had this crazy idea, just wondering if it is feasible or not…

I think link management is great, and I intend to use this to post links to interesting stuff I find on the web on a daily basis. At the mo I just stream these links into one big list which is fine but it’s hard to distinguish the link category per link. What I’d like to do is apply a style per category to each link in the big list. So, you could style all links about Apple red, all links about Technology blue or all links about film yellow for example.

Is it possible to apply a different class to each individual link in a list which is determined by the link category? If not this is definitely a feature I would love to use, any plugins to do this out there?

Not possible with core TXp as far as I know. It shouldn’t be difficult with a plugin, but you may have to write it yourself.

That’s correct, you’d need a plugin. I don’t think one exists, but you can check at the resources site (link above).

Correct me if im wrong but cant you just do this:

=========================================
<div id=“your category style name 1”>
<txp:linklist form=“your form name here” category=“your category name 1” sort=“linksort” />
</div>

<div id=“your category style name 2”>
<txp:linklist form=“your form name here” category=“your category name 2” sort=“linksort” />
</div>

<div id=“your category style name 3”>
<txp:linklist form=“your form name here” category=“your category name 3” sort=“linksort” />
</div>

etc….. and apply a style to each category div, easy peasy!

You could, if you want them separated that way.

This was an old discussion, and we now have the ability to use link_category and if_different.
