Hi all,

at grauhirn.org you will find a plugin that shows the online-status of your skype-account. any suggestions are appreciated.

notes

Please note that if the plugin gives back an “Unknown” you still have to set your skype to enable the webmessages. That will be done in the options on the privacy-tab.

Please be aware that it can happen that this forumentry will not be updated at the next update. The most current version is always available at grauhirn.org

requirements

no safe mode on the server.

attribute name

your skype-name

attribute lang

available language. available (via skype) are en (default), fr, de, ja, zh-cn, zh-tw, pt, pt-br, it, es, pl, se.

attribute encoding

Encoding of the output. Available (via skype) are ‘utf8’ (default) and ‘latin1’ (thats iso-8859-1).

status0 up to status7

set your own messages for the following stati

status0 = Unknown
status1 = Offline
status2 = Online
status3 = Away
status4 = Not Available
status5 = Do Not Disturb
status6 = Invisible or offline
status7 = Skype Me

You can set also only one or two statusmessages. If no message is set for a specific status the default will be load. Please be aware that therefore a second call to skypeweb has to be made. If you set one own status-message, every hit to skype will first try to get only the status, not the message. If the plugin determines that it has no own statusmessage for your status it will try again to get the message available for your language.

attribute cachetime

Sets how long in minutes responses will be cached in the files-directory (which has to be writable).

attribute usecache

Sets if the cache should be used (default is yes). You should use the cache because every pagehit on your site will result in one or two hits at skypeweb, which could could bring some problems if they decide to restrict the hits. If you want to disable the cache set this attribute to no, 0, false or disable.

status as image instead of message
linkable skypename or statusmessage (opens skype-call or -chat), if user is available for call

Will this work with Mac Skype?

Edit: status should be viewable online is not poss with mac skype

Edit: Request, optionally display skype name

hi lee, it will work with mac skype as soon as mac skype is in version 2. but it depends on the skype-people.

First test generated the swedish word for unknown and nothing else. What may be the problem?

Or is it a translation-problem. Is it just supposed to generate text: online or offline ?

hi skoggy: you need to turn the webstatus on in the settings of your skype. and you need the newest skypeversion (i think only for windows at the moment).
