Textpattern in French

Hi,

I wanted to know if somebody works on the TXP translation into french ?

I think this great CMS deserves to be known here in France, and since I have almost finished a first draft of a translation for my own purpose, I am willing to provide the lang file for “debugging” (I translated “on the fly” for the moment).

Just one question : what should be the format of the lang txt file for French : fr-FR.txt ? And how do you switch from one language to another ? For the moment I cheated the system by putting french translation into the en-gb.txt….

Thx

fr-fr.txt is fine. For now, you’ll need to edit the following line near the top of /publish.php:

$textarray = load_lang('en-gb');

should be

$textarray = load_lang('fr-fr');

text*

Re: Textpattern in French

Hello Dean,

I tried to rename the lang file to fr-fr.txt and change line 52 from

$textarray = load_lang(‘en-gb’);

to

$textarray = load_lang(‘fr-fr’);

But it didn“t work… what did I miss ?

Re: Textpattern in French

I don’t think there’s a fr-fr.txt file in the current release(s)

Re: Textpattern in French

Yeah, I wrote it for my own purpose to begin with, but I also I think TXP is so great I want to promote it here in France.

I did not make it available yet because I want to make some corrections, and check the “holes”. If a french member wants to check it with me, I’ll send the file.

As soon as I am finished, I’ll publish it on my site.

I aslo intend to translate Pedro Palazon’s manual and jdueck’s textpattern semantics.

Re: Textpattern in French

Hello David, I’d be glad to help you with the french translation of textpattern and various guides floating around. Have you already started one of those ? (just to avoid starting the same translation)
