Pixel Font Type as Site font

Sorry about the vague heading of the post, wasn’tsure what to write.

What I’d like to do is use pixel fonts throughout a site. From headings to the content. I was wondering if someone could help in guiding me about the pitfalls and how I would go about doing this.

Would it be possible to do something server side, where the user visits the site, the site then calls the srver and outputs the text in the desired font? Or something where the font is downloaded as the site is loaded?

I don’t know how to do this and would appreciate some help on this.

Thanks in advance

Sounds like a job for zem_image_replace.

Re: Pixel Font Type as Site font

I wouldn’t.

There’s no way to embed fonts except by making the text into images, which is what that plugin does. Use it for smaller portion of text, but keep the content as text. At one time there was experimentation with actual font embedding, but that doesn’t work universally, and has been pretty much abandoned for a “long” while.
