Use textpattern for a regular site not a blog??

I am just checking to make sure I am using the right setup, but is it possible to use textpattern for a regular site? Not so much a blog with articles and such. Also can you mix static with dynamic using textpattern? Sorry if this is a bonehead question but I see some of the sites in the review section and it really isnt clear to me if it is all textpattern or just certain areas.

Is there a tutorial or walkthrough out there for this if it is possible?

You sure can. Have a look at the FAQs for more information… This link might also be useful.

Best wishes,

…is it possible to use textpattern for a regular site?

Yes. Textpattern is primarily a CMS, but has some blog features. It really depends upon how you setup your pages and forms as to it appearing like a content site versus an online journal.

Also can you mix static with dynamic using textpattern?

Well, it’s all “dynamic”. When you’re talking about dynamic versus static, usually you’re talking about plain html files versus pulling the content from a database. Textpattern grabs everything from the database, it doesn’t create any files.

99% of the time it is all-Textpattern.

Thank you as well.

If anyone has anyadvice for a new guy about to travel this road please let me know. Also are there some must have plugins for this system?? They all seem to be great.

Welcome to Textpattern, ddd.

Must-have plugins? Not really. Which plugins you use really depends on what you want your site to do. There are plenty of sites that use no or almost no plugins, and of the the sites that do use plugins, I doubt they have many plugins in common.
