Populating article via link?

I’m working on a plugin to facilitate a podcasting site. My question revolves around any security or other concerns for creating a link like:

index.php?event=article&Title=test%20title

Basically I’m including all the information to populate an article in the link itself. If this is discouraged, what’s the best way to accomlish this task?
