Performancing Blog plugin for Firefox

Hit beta a few days ago:

http://performancing.com/firefox

Its a plugin for Firefox that supports XMLRPC. It will work (sorta) with Textpattern. I’ve submitted a few suggestions to the developers of the plugin for better TXP support. They might add some Textile support in the near future.

Now, I just need a good XMLRPC deal for TXP. Anyone have suggestions? I found one (can’t remember where, and can’t check until this evening) but it doesn’t handle things the best.

Re: Performancing Blog plugin for Firefox

A bit more info. If you use the “HTML” mode in the plugin, you can use Textile tags and they do not get reformatted.

You do not get an excerpt, and you can’t chose the post status (live, draft, etc).

Depending on how the XMLRPC supports those features, they are going to look into adding more support for Textpattern.

Thanks for the pointer !

I’ll check this one out, Flock’s editor was a little too basic for me, this one might do :)

Re: Performancing Blog plugin for Firefox

So far, it looks like the most limiting factor is the XMLRPC support in Textpattern. I am using a modified XMLRPCS.php file I found online (can’t remember where though). And it reports a few things wrong to the plugin…

So if anyone knows of a good XMLRPC file (or something native in Textpattern? ) that would help the testing.

v1.0.1 of the plugin is due out any day with some key bug fixes.

1.0.1 is now out. They added some more support for Textpattern. I can’t fully test it until tonight (when I get home). But many of the bug fixes are going to help smooth things out.

Re: Performancing Blog plugin for Firefox

This Firefox Extension looks great but wich XMLRPCS.php file we could use to make it work with TXP?
and how secure is the use of that file? (It was a little dangerous when use with Movable Type a few years ago).

Thx

the XMLRPC mod: http://textpattern.org/mods/225/xrt
the new XMLRPC plugin: http://textpattern.org/tutorials/493/gho_xmlrpc

Hope that helps! :)

Re: Performancing Blog plugin for Firefox

I am waiting on the “official” XMLR-RPC stuff from TXP. Until then, I stopped using the Performancing plugin.

The plugin is nice, but the XML features are lacking on the TXP side, so the plugin doesn’t function very well with more than one TXP site.
