Implementing Textile in my own apps
I love textile! Ever since using it in textpattern, I feel in love with it’s simple syntax, and elegant design. I know XHTML, but it is so much easier (and less keystokes) to use than embedding the code directly.
Is this something I can download and start implementing into my own applications? I’ve seen it show up in other apps besides textpattern, most notably BaseCamp.
I went to http://www.textism.com/tools/textile/ but that was only a generator. I’d like to implement the textile rules engine in my PHP apps, if it’s available for download, without having to reverse engineer it. Besides, if there is a standard engine, it will be easier to maintain and contribute back to the community, than coming up with my own implementation.
Any info or links are appreciated. A quick google search did not reveal anything interesting.
Thanks!
thanks,
