i can't get past the last part of set-up...

first off, i’m very new to this.

ok…now on to my problems…8(
i installed everything connected with the db and was trying to make some basic “hello world” pages and could get nothing to display when i went to my site. while messing with everything i erased some things and decided to do a fresh install and start over. well, when i ran the set up file again i got to the very last part were it asks me for my full name, login, password, and email. i entered these and it said that the db has already been created and that set could not continue…

my questions are these…

1. do i need to set-up some config files by hand to be able to re-use the db and login name and password i already have set up?
2. or am i screwed and i just need to create a new mysql db and a new login and password chalking it up to being dumb and needing to be flogged.

p.s. if there’s a way to use option number one i’d like that much better…

thanks to all you tp jedi out there who can help me…

That’s pretty clear, no? There are already tables existing, and to not cause data loss it is not “overwriting” them. You have to manually delete those tables, if you want to do a fresh install.

ALternatively you can use a different table-prefix during setup. The old tables will then continue to stay there.
