Re: Favorable Designs = TXP + Multi-Category + E-Commerce

The status is “still in the works”. The site has been running for a couple months so I’ve been monitoring it and making sure everything still works (like Paypal IPN).

There’s still some work that will have to go into it to make a plugin that could be easily used by others. And there is also the question of writing documentation. The day will come when it can be released but I’m still working up to it now.

Re: Favorable Designs = TXP + Multi-Category + E-Commerce

rob,

your solution seems quite elegant to me and i’m in the process of trying to implement a similar solution (using the webforce cart in conjunction with paypal). my needs aren’t as extensive as yours: i need only to sell one item.

question: i notice that you are charging ohio residents sales tax. looking at the source code, it doesn’t look like you hardcoded a tax variable into your “submit order” button. so did you specify ohio sales tax in your client’s paypal profile? and, if so, is that working? is state sales tax indeed calculated?

i ask because i have specified ny state sales tax in my profile, but at no point is it being added to the base amount.

Yes, all of my tax and shipping is handled by Paypal and I haven’t had a problem with it. The way its setup you have to ship to an Ohio address to be charged shipping.

very small OT: Nathan Smith, that’s cool! Were’s she from exactly (Estonia is a small country)?
Not OT: That plugin is delicious. I’d gladly pay for it as well.

i’m in $100 for the ransom of a finished plugin. would you consider turning this in to an open project and releasing what you have into the wild. i know that i’m pretty hot for something like this (someone directed me to this thread from my own post) and it looks like others are, too.

Re: Favorable Designs = TXP + Multi-Category + E-Commerce

any news on this.

My wife’s looking to set-up a small store online.

She’s used to textpattern so i would prefer this route (and my php is very rough so i don’t havethe right skill to turn the cart into a plugin myself)

i’ve seen http://www.freecsscart.com/ but it’s not ready yet.

I have $ to help with any ransom and am sure many people would do the same.

cheers
