Another question concerning the search function
Dear TXP community,
I have exactly the same problem as Henrik Pejer:
If i search for ‘toaster tire dean allen’ I only get hits in articles where those words are found in that particular order. So this means that if an article contains the following (very silly) sentence, I get a hit:
“While outside i noticed that toaster TiRE DeaN AlleN was happily jumping around with his wonderful dog Oliver”
Ofcourse the example above is very silly but I think that it illuminates my point fairly good.
Personally I’d like to get a hit on all articles containing any […] of the words that I search for.
Is there a way to achive that? With a hack, probably?
Thanks!
The BHP

Re: Another question concerning the search function
I imagine that this is only a few lines of code that have to be hacked. Am I wrong?

Is this plugin something for you?

Re: Another question concerning the search function
Actually I think Henrik’s plug-in is one of the finest search facilities I’ve seen but it doesn’t work properly at the moment due to recent changes in the TXP code. I do know he is working on updating it but he is very busy with work and moving house so it is taking a while. :(

Re: Another question concerning the search function
The crockery branch already has “any word” search built in.

Re: Another question concerning the search function
Crockery is the 4.1 branch. Postgres just happens to be in it.

Re: Another question concerning the search function
So, should I wait for TXP 4.1?
I would be happier if I didn’t have to update my TXP installation, since everything works just fine right now.

Re: Another question concerning the search function
Is there a specific part of this code that we can take out of the 4.1 branch and retrofit? Or is that just suicide? :)
And what are the advantages of this new search compared to the old one and perhaps the ob1_advanced?
TIA
