[issue] Textile Snag

Hi,

I’m having a slight problem/misunderstanding with Textile. If I try to use the asterisk either side of some text (that I want to embolden) then it is not parsed by Textile and the asterisks are shown either side of the text exactly as typed. I can replace the asterisks with < strong > tags and it emboldens the text as expected.

I’m using 4.02 but I saw this exact same behaviour in 4.01 as well. Any ideas how to fix it so that the asterisks work as described?

Cheers

Dry

BTW, the same thing happens with underscores as well.

Re: [issue] Textile Snag

Can you show us an example of the text that’s not working? Use notextile tags so it’ll show up on the forum.

You have Textile turned on, right?

Re: [issue] Textile Snag

Hi Zem,

Yeah, I’ve got Textile turned on. The exact text that is not working is:

<notextile>Invitation (small) *£2.35*</notextile>

Both when using the preview function and when saving the article the text shows up exactly the same as shown above. This should produce <code><p>Invitation (small) <strong>£2.35</strong></p></code> right?

Cheers

Re: [issue] Textile Snag

It probably should, but there’s a known issue with Textile where bold, underline and similar only work beside English word characters.
