Working on my Prefs....

and I can not somehow get the View Site button to get me to the homepage.

WHat happens is that when I click same, I go to what should be the page — www.domain.ca/textpattern-4/index.php/ —

“config.php is not ok or not found. If you would like to install, go to [/subdir]/textpattern/setup/” error message….

Soon as I ‘cut’ that last / off, the page then does show up (no css is applied tho, it looks like hell?)

I’ve checked in my Site Preferences >Site URL and it’s properly listed as — www.domain.ca/textpattern-4/ — which would make the index.php page the homepage, yes?

Can someone point out what I’m missing?

WHOA….rebooted just in case…and now I get that same error message, but then taking off that last / gets me to a css formatted blog home page, but with this
across the top….

“Notice: Undefined index: DOCUMENT_ROOT in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\canadianmilliondollarpage.ca\httpdocs\textpattern-4\textpattern\publish.php on line 81”

???

Try removing the end /, so: www.domain.ca/textpattern-4

Edit: in Preferences, I mean.

restarted again…and the Prefs says the homepage URL is – www.domain.ca/textpattern-4

When I click on View Site button (which shows www.domain.ca/textpattern-4/ in the status bar) I go to the proper CSS formatted homepage….no problems there now…

BUT I still get that error across the top – Notice: Undefined index: DOCUMENT_ROOT in C:\Inetpub\vhosts\canadianmilliondollarpage.ca\httpdocs\textpattern-4\textpattern\publish.php on line 81

What does line 81 point at? And why me?

It’s just a notice, not an error. If you set Production Status to ‘Live’ it should disappear.
I guess the notice has something to do with the doc_root variable that was taken out of config.php a while ago, if your site is working allright I don’t think you should worry about it.

<grin> ahh…yes…that’s working now.

now, I gotta learn about skins or whatever they’re called in this tech…and most likely I’l be back…

thanks tho doggiez….your help is appreciated.

oh MODs….I’d think that my troubles here are pretty normal. maybe mention could be made by those in charge
about the publish.php error for new installs….would help….and keep the noise down here too…
