Custom CMS to TextPattern
Hi Folks,
Some time ago, I wrote a simple CMS for a local bar/restaurant’s website that handles upcoming events, menu changes etc, but it doesn’t handle the site styles etc. Recently, I’ve been considering moving over to TextPattern, to give more control of the site through a single system.
I’ve read through the plug-in how to, but would like to hear from anyone who has attempted this kind of conversion to get an idea of the effort thats likely to be involved and whether or not its worthwhile in the long run.
Any tips or hints would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Custom CMS to TextPattern
Your best bet is to copy one of the import scripts (textpattern/include/import) and modify it to suit. import_b2.php is the simplest if you want to copy directly from your database.
Alternatively, write a script to export data using the MT import format – Textpattern already supports that.
