Re: Parent category

  • Create categories wolf and animal
  • Click wolf and set it’s parent category to animal

..so basically it’s for creating sub-categories?

Re: Parent category

And how do I make use of that category/subcategory relationship in a site?

Nobody knows. Well, if someone does, it doesn’t tell.

Re: Parent category

Just to clarify further. Is there any way to pull up a list of all of the articles in a parent category using the ?c= form, when the articles are placed in a child category?

So, I have “Movies” and sub-categories “Asian” and “American”. I can pull up each child category simply by using the ?c= form. But if I don’t explicitly set the “Movies” as a category as well, even if it is the parent category, I cannot simply use ?c=movies and see everything in all of the sub-categories. Is there a non-plugin workaround? Can I tell ?c= to pull up the children?

Thanks!
