Re: Icelandic
When you take a deanload version (RC5) , the install procedure at some point will take you through lang update check.
On a live server you can directly access the lang files through XML-RPC where the lang files are located and updated.
On a local install you can access and install the lang files going to the specific link.
You could just grab one and replace the translated lang strings with yours (using a good text editor for that and working in UTF-8)
Once done , you can just e-mail your file to Dean.
Not sure if I overlooked something, but the basic procedure looks fairly simple.
(The files are located in the lang folder)
BTW.:there is allso a transliteration file for non ASCII charracter URL conversion, where you can append your transliteratio strings and save it back for yourself.(Still under testing though) the file is called i18N.ASCII.txt located in your LIB folder and once again should be in UTF-8 without a Byte Order mark.

Re: Icelandic
Did you mean in the permlink URL of the page title, or in the page title itself ?
check allso, if yu have everything UTF-8 enabled, like your browser, database ,server settings, etc.
more desccriptive details allso would help,
If you meant the title headers in your backend that are visible in the top of your browser, that is another problem.

Yes i ment the title headers in my backend.

Thx

Re: Icelandic
If it’s at the backend , there is not much that comes to my mind, look at the latest bugreports ,you’ll find something there.

Re: Icelandic
By using Autoreplace special chars(looks like textile) for page titles in the language file, the problem is solved.
Now is this a valid solution ?

@druzli: Please use this if you would like to translate:
http://rpc.textpattern.com/lang/en-gb.txt
The Files at http://rpc.textpattern.com/lang/ always contain the latest versions. The one in subversion may be older, it is not always kept up-to-date, only for releases.

I am not sure I understood what you did there. There are probelms in some areas in the backend, because PHPs string functions are not multibyte safe (although we are working with UTF-8). We are basically aware of the problem, if you would like to make concrete reports or suggestions I wouldn’t mind though. ;)
And thanks for working on a translation.

Re: Icelandic
Hi.
I have been wondering about this i18n-ascii.txt file and if I needed to do that for icelandic. Justa saw this
I just noticed that icelandic special characters do not get replaced in clean urls, just skipped out for nothing.
Can I have information about how to make my icelandic characters into this file ?
Hope I´m making sense here..:)
Thx

Agust
