Hello guiguibonbon,
thanks for your write up, this is just a short reply so we don’t bog this thread down with too much detail. You are right about not limiting things to articles and that a lot of other static content needs translating. Both Graeme’s plugin and the prototype I have here do handle these situations but it seems in different ways from your language handler.
I simply have a new sed_if_language tag that allows the conditional output of the contained block on a language match. That allows articles, pages and forms to have multiple translations inside them. Seems to work fine on my test site and it supports searching without the need to make changes to support it. Graeme’s plugin handles things a little differently by switching in alternate content from an sql table according to the language selected.
I would like to hear more about your experiences so far though. Please feel free to contact me via the forum email and I will be happy to talk in greater detail about your scheme and experience doing this.
As for the permlinks, I understand that Graeme has a scheme to handle that.

Yep, even commenters to that article think so.
(People always write “Text<strong>P</strong>attern”. Must be the all-caps of the logo that confuses the mind. I had the same problem in the beginning.)

This request should be coupled with the Section permissions. Without that, there is no reason to bind a user to a section.

Just a thought. I’m assuming that once claimed plugins are released, then pledgers make PayPal donations to the author, yes? So, since PayPal makes it so darn easy to create “donate” buttons, what if author’s created button code and we inserted it here next to the claimers name in the first post? That would make things a lot more streamlined. Buttons can be removed when author indicates pledges have been received.
Along the same lines, I’ve been thinking of adding a field in the plugin archive tables for a PayPal button, that way author’s get another focused line of support and incentive to update the tables with viable plugins. Anyone have feelings about that or see any problems? Let me know here. Thanks. Already done.

I would like to see Jakob’s ideas for a plugin that helps to customize the appearance of the admin panels get added as a request. Seems to have quite some relevance too.
