Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

Hello, I’ve deeply looked though this thread but I can’t find the answer to my problem: using the plug-in I don’t get any postings listed.

I am using txp 4.0.5.
In extensions > live archive I have autocache=yes, sections = pensatoio, editoriale, and categories = blank (but I’ve tried with the same name of the category in which I’ve posted the articles)
In admin preferences I have file upload path is a correct path:

/web/htdocs/www.maidireblog.it/home/files

isn’t it?(Default was: /web/htdocs/www.maidireblog.it/home/files)

and temp folder have this path:

/home/textpattern/tmp (Default was: /web/htdocs/www.maidireblog.it/home/textpattern/tmp)

both have permissions 777 even if I Imagine that only the first need this.

I have the js call in my page head section in this way:

<script type=“text/javascript” src=“http://www.maidireblog.it/?file=livearchive&amp;loading=Loading+Article+Archives…”></script>

I call the plugin with all default settings.
I know the caching is working as I can see the .dat files and they have content including names of articles.
I get no rssSubdate elements listed on the page, so no archive entries at all.

When I try the ?larch=1 extension, I get this message:

Something has gone horribly wrong. The year cache cannot be opened. Make sure your file upload path is correct and writable – /home/files

It’s as if when building the archive list it can’t find or can’t read the .dat files, but I can’t see why?
My archive is here

Every article have at least one category assigned.

Thanks in advance.

<txp:rss_live_archive><txp:rss_suparchive section=“pensatoio,editoriale” /></txp:rss_live_archive>

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

Tried to downgrade to 0.6 version and obtain the same result:

Something has gone horribly wrong. The year cache cannot be opened. Make sure your file upload path is correct and writable – /home/files

I think in not compatible with TxP 4.0.5 ‘cause with my previous installation (4.0.4) all was fine. It’s a pity, let’s hope Rob will find a solution.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

It seems that Rob Sable will not update the plugin so far.
Before downgrading to TxP 4.0.4, ‘cause I have a lot of script that may create problem to the Live Archive, I have a question: did someone get the Live Archive (any version) working with Textpattern 4.0.5?

In my case the .dat files are created but the ?larch=1 option give me no list.

Thnaks in advance.

This is a gret news. It’s very strange: I was running it with 4.0.4 and I can’t get it running anymore.
Sometimes dat files appers but the Live Archive doesn’t works, other times (after deleting them to reset the cache) they don’t appear anymore.

Which kind of file path (of the cache and files) may I put in the Admin preferences? With http://, without…? I tried SO MANY times but I can’t find the right one.

Many thanks to all will help me.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

The plugin uses the file upload directory that is set on the Admin -> Preferences -> Advanced tab. It is a file path, not a URL. Something like /path/to/files to a writable directory is needed.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

Installed the latest version, .dats present, file path OK (I presume), writeable directory, CSS, call to the plugin correctly set: no results.

The ?larch=1 parameter gives this:

Something has gone horribly wrong. The post cache cannot be opened. Make sure your file upload path is correct and writable – /web/htdocs/www.maidireblog.it/home/files

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

What do you mean you presume the file path is ok? According to the plugin, its not.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive

My blog URL is: http://www.maidireblog.it

I’ve set the file upload directory on the Admin -> Preferences -> Advanced tab as: /web/htdocs/www.maidireblog.it/home/files

and I presume that’s OK ‘cause the dat files are correctly written by the plugin. I don’t know how can write the .dat on a directory and, at the same time, tell that the same directory is unwriteable.

If the problem is the cache, can you tell me which is the path of the cache? texpattern/tmp? textpattern/cache?
