Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
Hi,
I was advised to ask you if it’s possible to do rss_suparchive by author, so I can list articles by an author..(not a specfic author, but the author of the particular article on the page that the user is reading, so it depends on which article the user’s reading…. Please see the discussion here: http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=11659
also, I found that in one of your rss_suparchive example at your website, you have sth like “Free Happy Endings by Rob Sable in article”, when mouse over Rob Sable, the url appears at the bottom of the browser as “…/?author=robsable”. and the link title: link to articles by robsable. I was wondering how I can also do this. Because when I set the author name on my site like Rob Sable, the url appears as “/author/Rob+Sable, therefor the articles by the author actually cannot display. Could you please tell me how I can resolve this problem?
Many thanks.Last edited by liyuyu (2005-10-04 19:43:33)

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
I wish.
The disappearing years problem is quite annoying. I’ve never had it happen myself. I have some leads on it though.
I could swear someone wrote me telling me they had some idea of what was happening but damned if I can’t find the email. I’m thinking it might be timezone related but I’m still guessing at this point.

I just encountered the same thing after a month of non-blogging. I guess I should write something!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
Hi there,
I was wondering if there was a way to cludge the super-archive so that I can display information from a custom field associated with each article.
For example, I am using a field called particpant_name to associate names with articles, I would like those names to display under the associated article in my archive listing.
I am not a very proficient programmer any help would be very appreciated, and I could reciprocate with some design advice or CSS help.
the project is here;

thanks again.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
This is one of my favourite plugins but I have a small problem with it.
On the first day of a new month my archives are not showing, I get a blank page. To work around this I have to archive a random article with a date that lies in the new month. I wonder if others are experiencing the same problem or know how to correct this.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_live_archive
Hi Wilshire and everyone
I recently try to use your rss_live_archive plugin in my web, but I encounter some problem which I cant fix even I read through the whole forum. So I wonder if you could help me.
In order to make a reliable test, I re-build a new textpattern site.
1) I follow the installation guide and sure that my files folder is fine, as I can see the .dat files are generated.
2) When I test by a link like http://www.abc.com/archive, the words âLoading Article Archives…â appear for a second and nothing has generated.
3) When I test by a link like http://www.abc.com/archive?larch=1, an following error is displayed.
“Fatal error: Only variables can be passed by reference in C:\web\textpattern\lib\txplib_misc.php(455) : eval()’d code on line 95”
I remember that similar message also display when I try to use one of the another plug-in, most plug-in are fine.
Do you know what is going on? I have spent a whole night but still could not figure it out. It would be highly appreciated if you can give me some suggestions.
Regards
Edgar
