Re: upm_img_popper

Mary,

I’m having some problems with the new version of upm_img_popper. When I choose to insert the image code from the selector, the code doesn’t go into my article. I recently upgraded to both TXP 4.0.4 and Firefox 2.0. I’m not sure whether the problem is to do with the plugin, or with Firefox not being able to recognize the field into which the code should be placed. The plugin worked fine in TXP 4.0.3 and Firefox 1.5.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Matt

EDIT: Seems to be an issues with Firefox 2. Tried it in Opera and it works just fine. Firefox 2 has been exhibiting some wonky behavior all around. I hope they straighten it out in an update soon.

I’m using Firefox 2 and have no problems. ?

Are you getting any JavaScript warnings/errors?

Re: upm_img_popper

Ah, but I’m also using Firefox on a Mac. I wonder if that might have something to do with it. There are no errors. It’s just that nothing at all happens when I click on the insert “Image” link. Actually, when I click on “Article Image”, that one works.

I think it’s something to do with Firefox not identifying the entry field on the parent page, or understanding that it should insert the code into it. Ever since installing Firefox 2, I’ve been having similar issues with the program putting cursors in the right place. Sometimes, when I’m typing, the program doesn’t seem to realize that there’s a text field active. When I type, the letters show up, but when I this the ‘ or / buttons, it usually initiates the Quick Search feature instead of rendering the character on-screen. I usually need to minimize the window and open it again to get it working properly. The Mac version of FF2 is wonky, wonky, wonky right now. I’m very unhappy about it, and I reckon I’ll be using Opera more often until it gets fixed.

AHA. I have been searching to see if that bug was just me. I’m not crazy! I have to use file-> new window and then close the new window and all is fine. So odd. And I’m on PC. This is a reported bug by the way. Have you tried disabling your extensions one by one to see if something in particular is affecting this plugin?

Re: upm_img_popper

No, I haven’t tried that. The bug happens so intermittently, though, I wonder if I would be able to tell … Glad to hear the bug is reported. Hopefully they’ll fix it soon. It’s irritating!

Re: upm_img_popper

Just realized another issue I’m didn’t know I was having with the latest version of this plugin. How does one insert a custom form now? I don’t see the “custom” item in the insertion options.

Re: upm_img_popper

Check the plugin prefs; you’ve likely got it turned off.

Re: upm_img_popper

Mary, thanks for the update. The problem using Firefox 2 that I mentioned before doesn’t seem to be a problem anymore! :)

As for using custom forms, I’m still not getting it. I see the following options under “Insert”:

Article Image (append)
Article Image (replace)
Image
Thumbnail
Popup
Textile
XHTML

So, how do I call in the custom form? Didn’t there used to be a “Custom” option in that list?

Also, could you explain the Article Image options. I’m not sure how to use them.

Sorry if these are stupid questions. I’ve been out of the loop for a while.

Thanks,
theturninggate
