Re: upm_img_popper

A very small thing before testing it. The version of the plugin still appears as 0.1 in the plug ins tab

Re: upm_img_popper

mary any chance the window could be made bigger or resizable – and is it possible for me to call ad ifferent help file? or edit the existing one – so where it states class I can add use “left or “right” – saves the user having to think :)

thanks again for the work

Re: upm_img_popper

“could be made bigger or resizable”

The window is resizable once it’s opened.

If you make the window much bigger (I don’t know how much bigger you mean), it defeats the purpose of being in its own window. I figured this way its easier to tell that a window has opened in response to your clickingm but you can still see the write page underneath so you won’t get lost or anything.

“is it possible for me to call a different help file”

I don’t really want to do that within this plugin. As we were discussing in the other thread, I can create a standalone plugin that would allow for “help” pages.

“or edit the existing one – so where it states class I can add use ‘left’ or ‘right’”

I think it makes more sense to tie in Quicktags here: add a button or two, then they can click within the class, and choose whichever they want. Then you could get as crazy with CSS class as you want, but still relatively simple.

Hi Mary, the window is not resizable in firefox 1.0.3 (mac) and no scrollbars appear either.

Re: upm_img_popper

Feature creep has hit…
I’m still curious if you can have the popup insert an article image id into the advanced options form. That would make it a better stand-in for bas_image_select

Re: upm_img_popper

“How about adding an insert article image link?”
“if you can have the popup insert an article image id into the advanced options form”

Sorry, missed your first post while composing my reply. That will be easy to add, and is still in-keeping with the intent of the plugin. Look for it to appear very shortly.

I want to make sure: any more bugs or oversights anyone? If so, please let me know as soon as you have the time to do so.

Re: upm_img_popper

mary just noticed something, perhaps this is by design.

if my typing cursor is at the top of the page and I want to insert the popup image (or any other image) and select it, it will confirm the insertion, but it always inserts the image at the end of the content. Can it be set so that where the cursor sits, is where the image is placed?

Cheers

Re: upm_img_popper

I know about it. I know how to get this better behaviour, but it requires some more JavaScript (I’ll grab it from Quicktags) and I wanted to get this plugin out there, so people can start making use of it, make suggestions, etc. :) I’ll add it to the list for v.0.3

Re: upm_img_popper

Seems to work OK for me :-)
I haven’t decided though, if I prefer it to bas_img_select.

For me the only advantage it has is seeing the thumbs, because its sometimes quite laborious using the names in the bas plugin. So far though this hasn’t been a major problem for me, with the kind if workflow i have. In other respects, bas_img is neater and faster. Could this be done as a drop-down feature, like bas_img?

But if you start adding features like category navigation then wow, I will definitely want this….
For me, image management is a major enhancement to txp.

Could, but I’d rather not. Read the “intro” in the help file.

“if you start adding features like category navigation “

Category navigation: I’m not sure what you mean. I used code from the image manager itself. If it ever does this, I’ll update the plugin accordingly. So, I couldn’t say whether I’ll ever attempt it or not. Could you describe what you mean? :)

I THINK I know what he means. Basically the way the image manager is set up is rather chaotic – you can hae image cateogries, but they are in effect redundant as you cannot browse images by category nor manage them in their seperate cats. Right now it’s just a label which doesn’t do a whole lot. Perhaps it’s something for 1.0 where they will add category/section navigation and then this plugin would be able to do the same.

Right now though, and correct me if I’m wrong, the plugin works by taking the existing page and providing it as a pop up – so unless the feature is within that page, you couldn’t simply create the feature without rewriting the code for the image manager itself.

Re: upm_img_popper

Nope, I basically made a mini copy of the image tab. So, I could conceivably change it without changing the image tab, but it seems to me like some of that would still be a little over-doing it. If you’re going to be doing much image managing, it should be done in the appropriate page, rather than as a popup.

If we’re simply talking about changing how you can view the image list (rather than manage), I may be persuaded to add it, since that makes sense in this instance. If that’s the case, can you describe how you think it should behave?
