Does no reply mean no one tried or it doesn’t work or you don’t like it?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector

Bastian,
I didn’t use your old one.
This one is nice. I would agree with Patrick about the placement. I feel like the sidebar is cramped.
I would even guess it could go between the body and excerpt? This way folks could see their full images.

Ultimately, this still relies on browsing images by name rather than thumb, which I will always feel is missing the
most usable component for image navigation. But as a img name navigator I think it works great.

I did notice it inserts the full url to each image or its thumb into the article image field. I was under the assumption that all you needed was the 5, or 5t (id of the image).

In any case, one other thing I might do is to add some css to the area to help it stand out.
Perhaps a background with a thin border or some such, in order to let the user know when the
img selector ends and the next chunk (advanced options) begins.

Matthew

Good that you mentioned you missed some reaction, Bastian. But don’t worry, reasons can be manifold, we have vacation time, or people prefer to sit outside in their spare time, or they have Juanjo’s version installed, they don’t have subscribed to this thread, have tried to watch the demo, found a non functioning site and gave up for a while, or–like me–can’t try out a beta on their clients installations, and haven’t managed yet to get a local installation going.

But I’m really greatful, that bas_imgselector isn’t deceased.
Thanks to both of you, Bastian and Juanjo.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector

Couldn’t get it to work. Category selectors don’t display anything. Using 4.05

What am I doing wrong?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector

Did you use any plugin that depends on prototype or something else that has a $() function?

If you have firebug, it would be nice to hear about the errors shown.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector

If you are using TXP 4.0.5 $ should not be undefinded. Because it is function of jQuery.

Perhaps an other plugin is using prototype or something else?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector

I just installed the latest version of this plug-in. I am running TXTPTRN 4.0.5. For the most part, it looks like it works as I get the drop down and can see my images. However, at the bottom of the WRITE page I get the following:

Notice: Undefined index: bas_img_sel_start_cat in C:\wamp\www\textpattern\lib\txplib_misc.php(534) : eval()’d code on line 85

Any idea what this is and how to resolve?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector

If you install the prefs that message should go away.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] bas_img_selector

i am sorry for my own ignorance (it’s really my moms fault I suppose :-), but what are the “prefs?”
