Naw, he doesn’t give up. It sits and stews.

Use what ever analogy you want (good chili, boils, …)

Re: rc2 and 1.0

That has always been one of my biggest frustrations with Textile. Even more so when Aaron Swartz wrote html2text pretty much simultaneously with the release of Markdown.

Re: rc2 and 1.0

Does anyone know where the ‘css layout’ pre-gamma release of textpattern is available to downlaod and play with? :D

That was one of the best features, although only a few of them actually worked.
Anyway, there are now a lot of pure-CSS templates for all those typical layouts in case anybody wants to add that feature it back in. I’ll post the links if there is any interest.

Re: rc2 and 1.0

I’ll be happy if we can just get a release soon, and especially if it supports tags for image captions. I’ve been holding off on a project for the release, and really can’t hold off much longer. And image captions would just make my day …

Re: rc2 and 1.0

That be certainly be a very nice addition, but somehow I don’t think this is for 1.0.

Maybe somebody could whip up a plugin. Why not?

Re: rc2 and 1.0

Well, for me the “Why not?” would simply be because I don’t know how. But if someone could manage it, I’d certainly shower my kudos down upon them. :)

Re: rc2 and 1.0

If it can be done with a plugin, it’s definitely a job for a plugin.

A nice caption, with all the semantic we might need, and easy visual integration. Ahhh….

Re: rc2 and 1.0

What would be nice is that it works on Dreamhost servers without an unnecessary amount of head-spinning server side surgery.

That’s the only item on my final release wishlist.

Re: rc2 and 1.0

What is with Dreamhost? I don’t get it. There are so many cheaper, more feature packed hosting companies out there. Why would you choose Dreamhost?

I’ve used 3 hosts (less than $7/mo, unlimited bandwidth, unlimited subdomains, unlimited databases) other than Dreamhost and I’ve never had any problems with ANY CMS.

Maybe it’s not TXP that needs fixing… maybe you just need a better web host.

Re: rc2 and 1.0

I’ll second that – Dreamhost has been my best experience with a webhost to date. And it’s hardly what I’d call expensive for what you do get.
