Certainly looking that way so far, yay.

We can always reopen if the number of leap seconds fluctuates wildly in future and MySQL can’t handle it at the DB level.

I would hope with leap smearing becoming more of a thing, it’ll be less disruptive.

(There’s also the minor issue of earth’s somewhat unpredictable rotation and orbital velocity – but honestly we can address that in 4.10 or 4.11, I think.)
