Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_suparchive - article archive list
Wilshire, do you think it would be possible to have the categories links to be section sensitive ? Like the zem_popup_cat plugin does ?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_suparchive - article archive list
Glad to see this plugin was updated for RC3, I just upgraded and was wondering why my archives page was all messed up.
Is there a way to exclude certain articles from being shown on the archives page?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_suparchive - article archive list
Jeremie – I’m probably going to be making some updates to the category links like you mention for use in my redesign so look for a new version in the next couple weeks.
chrisrhee – There are lots of ways to exclude articles….by section, category, author, limit, timeframe, etc. If you’re looking just to exclude certain articles by ID, then no, thats not possible.
Stuart – Your posts keep getting longer ;) I’ll have to look into that when I get a few more minutes.
Anyone with mysql errors – Update to the latest rev and those should disappear. Let me know if there are still problems. The forms on the bycat plugin still seem to be buggy although I know at least one person had that working when I first added support for it.
bauhouse, i think that was you, right?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_suparchive - article archive list
I am using rss_suparchive on RC1, but when I try using showexcerpt=“1” no excerpt is visible.
The tag is:
< txp:rss_suparchive section=“article” dateformat=“F Y” showcats=“1” showsubdate=“1” addbreak=“1” showexcerpt=“1” / >
Am I doing something in error?
Thank you — Tony

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_suparchive - article archive list
If you’re on RC1 I assume you’re using version 0.8 or earlier. The showexcerpt option wasn’t added until version 0.11.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_suparchive - article archive list
Roger that. I’d held off upgrading to RC3 since the client has a Windows server and I’m a bit concerned about how “nuancy” RC3 would be for that.
Have you heard of any success stories of RC3 on Windows?
Thanks — Tony

Great, thanks :)
Any thoughts on my request on the top of the page (about being able to display author, excerpt, body, etc. in the _bycat mode) ?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_suparchive - article archive list
tonyl09 – I use RC3 on windows w/ apache locally and it works fine. For a client I’d wait until 1.0 came out.
Jeremie – Those options aren’t in bycat mode I guess just because no one ever needed it. I can see about incorporating that in a future release also.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_suparchive - article archive list
Sorry Rob. I’ve decided I like posting. :grin: I’ve gone with just using LATER for the time being. The main problem I think is the thumbs disappearing when you’re viewing the first post. Anything on top of that is a bonus. And thanks!

Argh. I desperately need them, thanks ! Your plugin is, for me, the best, and more the only way to build a CMS driven site (aka posted date is not the most important thing).
A basic page, with something like :
h1 cars
h2 urban cars
h3 an article (with link to it)
some data (excerpt and so on) on the article)
h3 an article (with link to it)
some data (excerpt and so on) on the article)
h3 an article (with link to it)
some data (excerpt and so on) on the article)
h2 sports cars
h3 an article (with link to it)
some data (excerpt and so on) on the article)
h3 an article (with link to it)
some data (excerpt and so on) on the article)
h3 an article (with link to it)
some data (excerpt and so on) on the article)
h2 suv cars
h3 an article (with link to it)
some data (excerpt and so on) on the article)
h3 an article (with link to it)
some data (excerpt and so on) on the article)
and so on. It’s the most basic web page construction and still very ergonomic and easy to read/use, it’s the kind of things we were doing 10 years ago. I’ve always found strange that TXP isn’t able to do this on itself.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_suparchive - article archive list
Just a quick update Rob. Things are working pretty well but since my last post I’ve now renamed my hacked version of rss_suparchive to rss_thumbarchive then pasted back in an un-hacked version so I now have all the original functionality plus a separate tag for the thumbnav. I was a bit hesitant when I thought of the idea but it all seems to be working fine. I was thinking it could be called rss_supaduparchive. :grin:

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] rss_suparchive - article archive list
After using it for a while, the bycat tag is giving me trouble.
The following markup:
<code>
<txp:if_individual_article>
<h4>Related Articles</h4>
<txp:rss_suparchive_bycat section=“Journal” useartcat1=“1”/>
<!—end if_individual_article—>
</txp:if_individual_article>
</code>
yields the following code:
<code>
<h4>Related Articles</h4>
<div id=“rssCatArchive”>
</div>
</div>
<!—end if_individual_article—>
</code>
Why is nothing returned, and why is that extra <code></div></code> being created?
