Oleg, I’m probably thinking it wrongly but I’m wondering if <txp:page_url type="s" /> actually recognizes the front page or any page using the default section, like the second page of an article list which uses the particular section.

Yiannis, you are right, it only checks the section name, not the presence of other filters. But we can add <txp:page_url type="pg" /> to the chain to detect also these cases.
