Well, I never would have believed it, but you were right, Jukka. I spent the last two hours swimming through TxP code to see how comments are recorded, and found nothing at all (it’s just put in the database as-is.) Tried your code and bada bing.
You have to forgive me. I came from WordPress, so I’m not used to the formatting system adding tabs and newlines in the comment; I honestly expected it to be built-in to the comment_message code. I didn’t doubt that your method would work; I just expected there to be a “cheaper” way, but I guess that’s just Textile.
