This is how the plugin used to work but not any more. I would wait until Dale’s version finishes before installing anything

I really can’t afford to wait, I have to get a subscribe option up. I have guest-author posts that are waiting to be made active. Are there any alternative suggestions then, even if they are temporary solutions?

actually, the way you describe is pretty much exactly how it works. and I do have a version that works with 4.6 builds, not feature complete, but would be willing to share that with you and anyone else as a quick fix.

Hi. Could someone update me on the status of this plugin?

I’m currently updating a very old TXP installation (from 4.0.6 to 4.5.5), and would also like to update some old plugins. This website has good ol’ original Ben Bruce’s Postmaster.
My questions:

is it possible to upgrade to mem_postmaster? If so, to which version?
does it send HTML email?
what else should I know? :)

Ben’s postmaster will definitely not work on txp4.5.5 and neither any of the newer versions. Because of this plugin I kept one of my sites to a slightly amened version of 4.4.1. This of course stops me from ever changing it to html5. One long winded option I am considering is to have 2 txp installs in the same domain. One would be in the root of the site using the latest and brightest release and the other in a folder called newsletter or similar where all the postmaster functions will be handled…

That is the version I am using in one of my sites with txp4.4.1. I think that the library is untouched but there are some patches on the plugin itself. I can’t remember what they are right now but I know that I definitely did them following advice from this forum.

Is there any post (or maybe you know) about the issue between mem_postmaster 1.0.10 and TXP 4.5.x?

I was having the issues of “Send to Test” not working properly and I just changed the plugin type from 1 to 5 and, after that, the plugin started working properly. Well, at least, it sends the newsletter.
What else is known to be broken?

It’s been some time and I forgot but I think registration and sending to lists was not working.

So far, both registration and sending emails seem to have worked for me on TXP 4.5.5. That said, I’m still testing, and haven’t tried yet sendint to a 5000+ mailing list.

THat is very strange as most postmaster users have problems. You could make a list with 10 emails (yours and some close friends) to check the group mailing. Maybe all it needed was a change to the plugin type.
