Re: [archived] tcm_rss - RSS feeds with any formatting

Does anyone know if tcm_rss works with Textpattern 4.0.1? I upgraded and tcm_rss gave me errors. I downgraded back to 4.0 and it worked fine again. What should I do?

Works for me in 4.0.1. Maybe you need to put the plug-in’s .inc files in the /textpattern/lib again? That was my problem.

Re: [archived] tcm_rss - RSS feeds with any formatting

Has anybody been able to set this limit posts yet, for example showing just one post/feed?

….or even better would be an option to show maybe only 30 first chars of post feed as a link to actual site and article.

Re: [archived] tcm_rss - RSS feeds with any formatting

I’m looking for these one too.

If, as nardo said, the version at textpattern.org isnt the latest one, I would be thankful if someone can post the link or send the plug-in to me.

Also, I found this is the only plug-in that does aggregate RSS from external sources to TXP.
When I started to search a way to aggregate RSS, I though I would find a lof of plug-in that do the trick.
But this is the only one.

I can find plug-ins to do cool things, as output your playlist from AudioScrobbler, and your links from del.icio.us, but nothing as useful as news from a newspaper, or whatever is served as an RSS feed.

Well, this plug-in can do that, but it seems to be beta and abandon-ware…

I have seen this is built-in in other CMS, but of course, I think will use TXP for the rest of my life, so use other CMS is not an option.

For those looking for an easy way to manage inbound feeds, I found this thread important. However, RSS Digest is deprecated. The new tool is Feed Digest.

Thanks for the pointer, Paul!

Re: [archived] tcm_rss - RSS feeds with any formatting

It still works for me under Txp 4.0.3, but I don’t use it anymore.

Have you tried it with a few different feeds? If you’re not getting big error messages, you probably have it installed correctly.

Just to be sure, in your “RSS” form, you should use the standard <code><txp:title /></code> and <code><txp:body /></code> tags. I could never an author name to show up.
