Thank you very much Christian. I had read that thread several times but before the “Webfaction Solution” had been added. It’s very useful and I think has a wider application helping those who have sites on Hosts that restrict the use of php mail.

Re: Best Hosting Provider for Textpattern
For what it’s worth I have several clients that already had sites on godaddy before they hired me and wanted to stick with them. Textpattern works just fine with them, and they are dirt cheap. Their customer support isn’t awesome, but I have gotten the answers I needed in the past, though no serious/complex issues have come up.

Re: Best Hosting Provider for Textpattern
I use Dreamhost with textpattern (for mostly personal and testing stuff, but a couple of “live” sites too) and have no problems. Infact I think you’ll have no problems with textpattern on most Linux hosts – as long as they don’t have anything stupid missing, or odd restrictions. Most “non-free” hosts would be fine.

UPDATE: I just made the switch to MediaTemple, and I will never look back! I finally have clean urls on my site without any problems what so ever.
Best,
