Thanks!

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

Eric, I’m experiencing an issue with the pdfs that are uploaded through your plugin as mentioned in this thread

On my page here http://www.gdpn.org/strategies/best-practices-conferences , all the pdf links are opening up in ASCII characters instead of a pdf. I think it’s the plugin itself because I have a folder stored on the server where I uploaded some of the same pdfs and they open up just fine. Those pdfs are uploaded through either the cpanel file manager or through my ftp client. But the pdfs being accessed from the link above were uploaded through your plugin.

Perhaps you know why the plugin is doing this? Assuming it’s the plugin. The strange thing is that those pdfs opened up just fine months ago when I initially uploaded them so I’m not sure what the issue is now.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

dreamer, you probably mean ebl_upload not ebl_image_edit (that’s just for images and shouldn’t even show in the file uploads window).

off-topic: BTW, your site is flagged as malware by google safe browsing (you get a big warning screen in safari). Also many adblocker browser plugins block images/paths/divs with the name “banner” so your main graphic doesn’t show up. Call it something else and it will work for more people.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

This has nothing to do with ebl_upload or ebl IMAGE Edit. Please post in the correct thread. Thank you.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_image_edit v1.0

Very good plugin, but…
Serious lack:
After resizing image in the smaller party, the size (weight) of an image does not decrease almost, and sometimes even increases in the big party.
For example:
After resizing image 1024*768 (112Kb) to 620*465, it’s new size becomes 203Kb.
Why it occurs?

That’s the GD graphics library. Check to make sure your host is using the most up to date version.

I found this in textpattern diagnostics:
GD Image Library: bundled (2.0.34 compatible);
But, I can’t install new version (2.0.36) in the host myself. What I must to do? Asking the host support?

I doubt that’s necessary. Mine is v. 2.0.28. and ebl_image_edit works just fine with that.

Agreed with Masa.

Expect a new version sometime in April.

New features
  1. Watermarking
  2. Contrast/Brightness
  3. Uses the latest IE8 compatible version of jCrop
  4. Better Waffles
  5. Anything else I can think of.

Great new features, TheEric.

Emmm, what about that awesome idea of replicating the backup functionality but for having new custom sizes for images, unlocking that TXP limitation of having just two sizes (full and thumb)? People will love you.

I imagine this kind of simple workflow:

1) user creates folders inside the /images/ folder. (Manually or using the plugin?). This folders can be named whatever the user likes: /small/, /square/, /125×125/, /320×240/, /large/, etc.

2) then, when user is editing an image using the plugin, he can decide on which folder he would like to save it.

3) Image is saved using the same name (ie. 23.jpg) than the original image.

That’s all, I think.

Then, it’s up to the user to write the code to cleverly include this images on his site. Also, it’s up to the user to save the image on the correct folder. In other words, if he wants to save (or by mistake he saves) a 640×480 image on the /125x125/ folder, well, that’s his problem.

What do you think?

Can I mention my awesome idea from before as well…

Defining presets for resize (in the same way you have done for crop)

…OK it’s not that awesome, but sure would be handy.
