Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

Error – invalid serial.

The host name must match what is used. Email me and I’ll add another/look at your current one/

I believe that an invalid serial number is not the issue if you are referring to me since the error is 2038 and not 2049, however i did e-mail you a couple of days ago and have heard nothing form you as yet?

EDIT: rephrased above statement

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

I’ve two weeks for a simple reply yes or no as to if there is a solution. I understand that Eric may be busy and respect that, but simply to ignore the couple of e-mails i have sent to him and ignore this forum is not right. I got no auto respond – out of office message – so one can only assume that is this day an age he got the mail.

@Eric If there is no solution, just say it. No problem. Just refund me my money. No hard feelings.
Good luck with your other projects.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

Perhaps you should check your spam folder before I’m accused of ignoring you. #2038 has been covered. Your host has mod_security applied which is rejecting the uploads. Apply the htaccess patch to your htaccess file in the root/textpattern directory and it should, theoretically work fine. If not, find out what additional measures your host is implementing.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

Thx for your reply.
As i had already mentioned the .htaccess fixes did not work. I asked my host about their configuration and mod_security isn’t enabled on that server, nor is PHP’s Safe Mode. So those aren’t causing the issue.

I upgraded an old 4.0.5 site to 4.2

Slightly offtopic relating to the problems you are facing, but security-wise it would be good to update to newer version than 4.2.0. Textpattern releases older than 4.4.0, including 4.2.0, are affected by major known security issues. If I were you, I would update to v4.4.1 as soon as possible, otherwise your server’s security is at risk.

Anyways, I hope you get the issues solved.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

Thx for the headsup Gocom. I have upgraded to 4.4.1 thinking perhaps two birds with one stone, a securer website and a working EBL Upload plugin.

Unfortunately the #2038 issue remains.
I have had extensive contact with my host “Fluidhosting.com”. And have checked the server settings their end. They say there is no server setting that should prohibit the upload function.

Does anyone have this plugin working in 4.4.1?

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

How about the limit to file upload size – or what size are you uploading at?

I was just reading through this thread which might give you a few other pointers.

I just googled flash #2038 to try and help you as I don’t think the problem lies with the plugin

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

Thx for the tips.

I did some googling myself and the majority opinion is that it is one of three issues
1. file size (only this can’t be it cos files being uploaded are less than limit. If over limit i get neat warning in advance)
2. security settings (only this isn’t it cos the issues have been thoroughly checked already – see phpinfo link)
3. Flash is breaking off the connection for some reason (could be)

But the majourity has often been known to be wrong. Problem is i’m a designer trying so solve developer/programmer issues. I´m out of my league. Very frustrated too.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

I purchased this plugin via the store, but was not granted a link to download it?

**Edit – Eric quickly rectified the situation. Thanks

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] ebl_Upload Version 3

Hello Eric,

I got the error #2049, after reading all of the posts, i noticed that the site we were working on went live and there was a conflict in the serial number with the now live url at www.bouctoucherv.com. So i reissued a new serial number with the new url. installed it and now i get error #2.

what am i doing wrong?

edit: I noticed that we entered the domain www.bouctoucheRV.com in the serial number generator where, on the browsers url bar, it shows www.bouctoucherv.com.

should that be changed? If so How?
