Here’s a site I did recently – I used upm_image and jquery.cycle to accomplish what you’re after.

Tom,

this looks very attractive and I’m wanting to implement something similar in a site.

However I’m wondering, how would this work with images of various sizes and aspect ratios?
Would portrait format images be shrunk to fit in the same space or would they expand pushing content further down the page (not ideal for my scenario) ?

Cheers Martin

Re: Inline thumbnail viewer

Hey Martin,

I had a situation where I had mixed images – it worked fine.
I know there were a few issues – but I’m not sure what anymore.
This might help

Good luck – let me know if I can help.

Re: Inline thumbnail viewer

Hi, I was using renobird’s technique on a website for article images using Cycle.
Works really well and smooth in FF and can auto generate thumbnails which is nice!

BUT

I noticed is that in IE it throws out my sticky footer/ Im certain it’s because the images seem to stack before the cycle.js kicks in, thus changing the height of the container. I have tried overflow:hidden but this doesn’t work. On any articles with one image the sticky footer is still intact.

Anyone got any suggestions for a possible fix for this??
