Re: if category list? Lost in conditional logic!
Thanks anyway. Now back to making things look pretty, and making that perfectly-working list of categories look nice…

The category tag is supposed to read which style of links you have and offer /category/name_of_cat instead of ugly messy URLs.
That’s only when the front page is used to display category lists. When a section page is used you get /name-of-section/?c=name-of-cat.
But don’t ask me why…

Because then then there would be both: /section/category
and section/title/
etc. that causes quite many restrictions coz names couldn’t be the same – they must differ. But also there is the other reason: clean url just “excepts”, it doesn’t “know” what it’s looking for. 3rd reason is unfinished clean urls.
But it could be done with section/category/category-name
but as we know, TXP’s clean urls won’t support that three level thingy, nor completely clean urls.

Ah, good to know! I remember there have been several questions for that answered with a shrug just in the last few months.

Ahhh, makes sense. Thanks Gocom / Els. That’s another mystery cleared up. Learn something new every day, I say :-)
