Don’t panic – those error will go away. But they aren’t fun to look.
The warning makes it sound like the table are present.
In your configuration file, are you sure you have the right:
- database name, (this may have changed)
- user name (this may have changed)
- password, (this may have changed)
- database host — this will have changed. It may or may not be the same as your website, depending on your new host’s setup. For example, the default install is “localhost”. But with Dreamhost you had to put in the MySQL server that was assigned to your website.
- txpath for the new host is correct. This will have changed with your webhost change.

Re: My god, what have I done?
Right now it says ‘localhost’, which actually worked before. Hrm.

Re: My god, what have I done?
Your new host should provide you with the info you need – either through an email or their control panel.
When you say it says “localhost”, and it worked before, when do you mean it worked? @ Dreamhost?

Re: My god, what have I done?
No, I actually had textpattern (but no website) up and running before I went in a wrecked everything. I installed a the new version and added a bunch of plugins and stuff. Then I took it all down when I restored the sql thing.

Re: My god, what have I done?
clarification – Just in case I miscommunicated – when I say that the database host will have changed – I mean from the config. file you used with dreamhost. Not from installing Txp.

Re: My god, what have I done?
Ooo, I’m not sure. Let me look.
…Naw, both config files have the same code in them.
Here’s the error I’m getting when I try my url:
Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/inadar5/public_html/brokenumbrella.com/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php on line 180

Re: My god, what have I done?
If you had a default install up and running at the new host, you should be able to use the same config.php file. Is that what you used?

Re: My god, what have I done?
Sven had a good point about this being tough to describe remotely. If you feel comfortable having me help you more directly, I can try, or we can keep trying using the forum a bit longer. Either way, I’ve got about 20 minutes yet before I have to go.

Re: My god, what have I done?
Chances are your former database name is different than the one you picked when you installed Textpattern again.
