Hi all. I’ve successfully installed Textpattern a number of times, but for some reason, when I hit I reach the point where I get “That went well. Database tables were created and populated. You should be able to access the main interface with the login and password you chose. Thank you for your interest in Textpattern.” I get stuck at that point. I click on the “main interface” link and instead of getting the login page, I get sent back to the set up page where I’m asked to choose which language I want from the dropdown menu. I have tried EVERYTHING that I can possibly think of. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, deleted the database and recreated it. Nothing works. I keep getting directed back to the set up page, despite that the URL is /textpattern/index.php. If anyone could shed some light on this, I’d appreciate it

Did you delete the ‘setup’ directory?

john, can you check if the tables were actually created using PHPmyAdmin?
Is your config.php file still where it should be (in the /textpattern directory)?
What happens if you visit: http://yourwebsite.com/textpattern/index.php?event=admin

Els, Ruud: Thanks to you both for the quick response. To answer your question, Els, yes I did try deleting the setup directory several times, and the error I get is “No such file or directory in /home/siteid/public_html/textpattern/index.php on line 29…”.
Els, yes I did check the config.php file and it’s where it should be, and I’ve checked the database in PHPmyAdmin and all the tables are there. I just can’t get into the login page. I’m continually redirected to the set up page with the languages select list. I can’t figure this out.

Thanks again, guys. I managed to figure it out late last night. The paths were preceded by the root folder in the download file, textpattern-4.0.6. Dumb, newbie mistake.
