Oh, ‘erm … yes you’re right! I must have missed the independence. ;)
I will fix it next release.

On another note I am having a problem where the little cart and checkout are not showing price or doing the math. When I use txp:yap_shop_custom_field the price is shown properly?? Any thoughts?

I suppose the custom_field_price in your config are wrong.
Use it like this (depending on your custom field for price): 'custom_field_price' => 'Custom_1'
So here the prices are stored in »Custom field 1«.
And be sure the name for custom field for price is same as in config 'custom_field_price_name' => 'Price'.

Thank you, I had them both set as Price…Does the little cart need to be present or can you simply put a link to check out?

No, sorry! The little cart is needed. But thanks for the feedback, I’ve marked it on my list. So maybe next release is not needed and optional.

Does math work now?

Re: yab_shop (simple textpattern shop with paypal support)

Very nice stuff.

Got it implemented and running in the blink of an eye – although i initially ran into the same problems as shayne, but got that sorted out quickly thanks to the post by trenc here. Maybe you should update the documentation regarding that point, everything else is just like butter.

Thanks for the beautiful markup, too; its a breeze to style this thing.

Def. looking forward to the next releases.

Re: yab_shop (simple textpattern shop with paypal support)

Trenc:

I have to say that set up and configuration of the cart has been great.

I do have one minor question. In IE 6, a space character is being displayed when using US currency. This problem does not appear in IE 7 or Firefox. Any suggestions would be appreciated. (and please do not say use another browser : ) )

Again, thanks for great work on your part. Much appreciated.

Re: yab_shop (simple textpattern shop with paypal support)

What dou you mean exactly?
Is the space chararacter displayed instead of the currency symbol? Or is the space between the the symbol and the price another?
If last then maybe it’s causes in the  . I mean it’s the typographic correct char for this kind of space. But if the IE 6 fucked up (as always) then I will change it to ,

Re: yab_shop (simple textpattern shop with paypal support)

New update

Changes:
 • fixed CAD ouput
 • fixed tax rate calculating, when tax rate is float with a comma as decimal delimiter
 • removed
 • new attribute output added for <txp:yab_shop_cart />, so cart output is optional
 • minor changes in plugin help

Trenc:

Just to let you know it was the space between the dollar sign and the number. I will take a look at the new update.

Re: yab_shop (simple textpattern shop with paypal support)

Ok, then it was the  .
I’ve stripped out all the spaces. So now it looks like on amazon.com.

Re: yab_shop (simple textpattern shop with paypal support)

trenc:

Thanks.

I am at the point where I am now investigating the paypal connection. I am hoping someone on the board (Blok,TheEric,Pat) can give some guidance.

I see where the form is created in your Plug In, how much flexability do I have in changing it and adding hidden fields? I think to get the Paypal to function, this is what will have to occur. Like I said I am just at the begiining stages.

What I am hoping is that the following can occur:

Complete shopping experience on the wesite.
Fill out form.
Send to Paypal for actual payment.

The key for me is having on the Paypal, the itemized cart, as wll as the information they provided on the website.

Let me know if you have any insight …

Thanks again for an awsome, much needed, much appreciated plug in.

Great job Patrick! I like the fact that you select the PayPal option from the drop down. Very slick effect on the little cart!
